Authentic B&B with Swimming Pool in the Portuguese Algarve
Located in a rural setting just outside the village of Boliqueime, and less than 20 minutes from the beach and the airport, you'll find Casa Porta Azul — a beautiful bed and breakfast in the south of Portugal where you can truly unwind.
Casa Porta Azul features seven rooms and three apartments. All rooms and apartments have their own private entrance and terrace. The (sub)tropical garden, filled with lemon, orange, fig, almond, and olive trees — not to mention giant palm trees — offers plenty of shady spots to relax. At the pool bar, you can always enjoy a refreshing drink. From our charming kitchen, we serve a healthy lunch daily. For a cooling dip, our (heated) swimming pool is perfect. You can also relax in our jacuzzi while enjoying the peaceful countryside view. For the little ones, there's a playground and a sandbox.
Rooms
Our 7 modern hotel rooms each have a private bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning for both cooling and heating, and a large double bed that can be separated into two singles. Each room has a private entrance and terrace.
Apartments
Casa Porta Azul also offers three fully equipped apartments — one for 2 people and two for 4 people. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy sitting area, and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. All apartments have a private entrance and terrace, and are fitted with air conditioning for both cooling and heating. All beds are double beds that can be separated.
Food
Every morning, we serve a generous Portuguese breakfast in the oldest part of our Casa, where you can still find authentic features of the original farmhouse. For apartment guests, breakfast is optional. You can enjoy a healthy lunch with us daily, and twice a week we offer a delicious 4-course dinner.
Massage
If desired, guests can enjoy a relaxing Ayurvedic massage in the peaceful surroundings of our Casa, available at an additional cost.

Casa Porta Azul is located in a prime spot in the southernmost province of Portugal. This region is a very popular holiday destination.
Close to home, you’ll find the authentic Portuguese countryside. From our Casa, you can step straight into nature. Our village, Boliqueime, is just a 5-minute drive away. The beach can be reached within 15 minutes by car.
Boliqueime
The center of Boliqueime is only a 5-minute drive from our Casa. Still undiscovered by mass tourism, Boliqueime is a small village built around the church. In the narrow streets, you’ll often see elderly men enjoying the fresh air together. Boliqueime offers several restaurants, ranging from simple and tasty to chic and refined.
Beaches
From the first floor of Casa Porta Azul, you can see the coastline. The beaches here, with their countless little coves, are truly unique. Within just 15 minutes by car, you can reach one of our favorite beaches: Praia do Barranco das Belharucas. The beach is interspersed with striking rock formations, found both on the sand and in the water.
Loulé
Loulé is a beautiful town located on a hill. The town still shows strong Moorish influences, including remnants of the old city walls and a Moorish castle. Loulé has long been — and still is — a center for fruit growing and handicrafts in the Algarve. Every day there is a large, semi-covered market where people from the inland sell their goods. It’s a joy to stroll among the locals and see all the wonderful products on offer. Don’t forget to walk up to the church on the hill — it offers a stunning view over the town of Loulé.
