Water lovers can enjoy clean lakes and dams.

The Pöhl dam promises the best conditions for a great holiday in Vogtland due to its large water sports and recreational facilities, where you can swim, sail or actively explore the area around the dam.

In our immediate vicinity there are several dams and reservoirs where you can swim or go boating, among other things. The largest "Talsperre Eibenstock" is for drinking water, so swimming is not allowed there, but the view is fantastic. There is also a "Bikertreff" there for the motorcyclists among us, but everyone can enjoy something there.

Vogtland is not only convincing in summer, but also in winter it offers a lot of variety, be enchanted by charming towns and villages and the many idyllic natural landscapes. In addition to its own activities, there is of course the "Vogtland Arena" with ski jumping, the sled dog races and the many Christmas markets that you can visit.

You can explore the winter landscape during a winter walk or glide along with your skis on well-maintained trails.

If you book one of our accommodations in Hammerbrücke, you will find several attractions in the immediate vicinity such as;

Plauen, the largest city in Vogtland and known far beyond the borders for its lace and the only city in Germany with a lace museum. Enjoy the hospitality of the locals.

Greiz, another "pearl of Vogtland", is the former royal capital with the three castles as a big crowd puller, which are not only a magnificent sight but also inspire with a varied museum offer.

The Czech Republic is a stone's throw away, so you can also visit Prague and Karlovy Vary, for example.

To walk

Hammerbrücke is located in the Ore Mountains/Vogtland Nature Park and is surrounded by extensive forests. Stress-ridden city dwellers or nature lovers will find ideal opportunities to relax here during long walks in the attractive low mountain range. The 92 hectare nature reserve "Am alten Floßgraben" on the outskirts of the city is one of the most valuable nature reserves in Saxony due to its spruce, pine and heath forests and a population of endangered species.

Cross-country skiing

The starting point of the trail is near the primary school. Rest areas, parking lots and ski rental options are in the immediate vicinity. The large Bergland trail is an attractive circular walk that can be walked clockwise or counterclockwise and is very well signposted. In both variants, the Hammerbrücke trail also connects with the Kammloipe.

Motorcycling

The Vogtland is known for its beautiful natural landscapes and not only attracts countless hikers every year. The routes in the Vogtland are also very popular with motorcyclists, as they lead through some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in eastern Germany.
