This authentic little old cottage offers you every day modern comfort.

In the huge yard, the place to relax and enjoy dining, you can take in the beautiful sceneries, starry skies, owls, deers and rest, space en silence and the clean air from the idyllic French country life with rest, space en silence.

This cottage is for rent by the week and can accommodate two persons.

The cottage is situated at the beginning of a path that lies between corn fields which lead to a huge forest.

Little villages like St. Maigner and Pionsat with al the conveniences are at a few kilometres distances.

Enjoy the many monasteries/convents and Roman churches like the 6th century Abbey de Menat.

You'll have to take a good look and make an effort to come across other holidaymakers in the surroundings of Chez l'arbe.

The must be somewhere, but are playing hide-and-seek at the odd campsite or at another cottage.

They hardly leave the area.

You hardly will.

However, if you won't be able to stay at one place, you find a nice village -Pionsat– at a five-minute-drive.

There you find a bakery, butchers, pharmacy, grocery store, café, post office and a bank with ATM.

At St. Maigners (a two-minute-drive by car) you'll find a cosy little café-restaurant where you can have a glass of wine for €0,70!

Other options are mountain biking, canoeing in Europe's clearest river waters La Sioule, horseback riding, swimming at different lakes and making trips to Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand,

Puy-de-Dôme, Montlucon and Riom.

Spa's and thermal baths you'll find at Chateauneuf les Bains and Evaux les Bains.

During the summer there are many antique markets and weekly country fairs at Pionsat, St. Gervais d' Auvergne and St. Eloy-les-Mines.

Accessible from the outside is the vaulted wine cellar with, among other things, washing machine and freezer.

Lac des fades Beserve is a large lake with various recreational options.

From the house you can walk or cycle via a sandy path that starts here to a large forest. The 'Bois de Pionsat'.

The area offers many recreational opportunities. Walking maps and brochures are available.

The nearby rural village of Pionsat has all amenities such as restaurant, shops, café and a bank. There is also a large Intermarché supermarket with a petrol station and charging point for electric cars.

There are several villages in the area with pleasant weekly markets, such as Monday morning in St.Gervais-d'Auvergne.

In St.Maigner, the municipality of 'country house Chez l'arbre', there is a traditional village restaurant where you can enjoy an excellent 'menu du jour' between 12 noon and 2 p.m. Completely according to French custom and at affordable prices.
